Ravens Bring Mascot and Cheerleaders to Walkersville, Pumping Up the Already Frenzied Crowd

The Baltimore Ravens joined the Walkersville Lions on Friday the 16th to celebrate a record in voting on the Baltimore Sun. The Ravens brought the mascot Poe and two cheerleaders and decorated our field with flags and a large sign of the Ravens logo.
It was a beautiful scene that the Ravens set up for us and a lot of people were really grateful for decorating the field and supporting the team and the fans. The best part was former Navy QB Keenan Reynolds giving Walkersville a shutout for Friday’s game.
The head of all this was Adam Rudel a member of the Ravens administration team. Before the game I asked the man in charge about what he does and what about football he loves
When I asked how he felt about this experience Rudel said “For me to do this brings joy to me, because I used to play football in high school, and bringing Ravens to high schools is a living. Bringing the Ravens to Walkersville is something else.”
Rudel added “Anything to do give back. For me and the Ravens to come to high schools is amazing. Kids are very into high school and professional football.”
Rudel finally said “The bonds you create with teammates is just extraordinary, representing a group of people, who will fight for something more than themselves. All 11 men playing together is something special.”
Some fans also had some opinions on the Ravens coming out. “I think it’s just amazing the support they bring to this small town and I think it’s really pumped us up.” said senior Justin Herm
“The Ravens giving us the respect we deserve makes me just want to just [scream].” said senior Ari Biggus.
What the Ravens did for us is just purely amazing and respectful to a town like us. I hope next year they choose us again so we can break the record.
